USB Driver for Mac Installation Guide

This document describes how to install the CP210xVCP driver on different macOS versions for A3 Configurator.

Download the Installation Image

Click here to download Mac_OSX_VCP_Driver.zip and unzip it, then you will get two files inside the folder, as shown below:

Double-click SiLabsUSBDriverDisk.dmg to load the disk image, you will get several files, as shown below:

 

Installation Steps

Double-click Install CP210x VCP Driver to run the installer, your Mac will display a dialog asking you whether to open the app, click "Open".

Click "Continue".

Click "Continue".

Click "Agree".

Click "Continue".

Enter your Mac administrator username and password when requested, then click "Install Helper".

Use Touch ID or enter your password again.

After entering the password again, the installer will prompt you to enable the driver extensions, there will be differences in different versions of macOS system, please refer to the steps below.

 

Allow Driver Extensions on macOS Sequoia (15)

In the pop-up that appears, click "Open System Settings".

Toggle the switch next to "CP210xVCPDriver" to enable it.

Use Touch ID or enter your password again.

Click "Done" to close the dialog.

After successful installation, a prompt "Installation of the driver succeeded." will appear, click "Close" to close the installer.

If you missed setting up in the wizard, go to System Settings > General > Login Items & Extensions > Extensions, find the message "Driver Extensions (com.silabs.cp210x)" and manually enable it.

 

Allow Driver Extensions on macOS Ventura (13) and Sonoma (14)

In the pop-up that appears, click "Open System Settings".

Click the "Allow" button below the message "System software from application CP210xVCPDriver was blocked from loading".

Enter your password and click "Modify Settings".

After successful installation, a prompt "Installation of the driver succeeded." will appear, click "Close" to close the installer.

If you missed setting up in the wizard, go to System Settings > Privacy & Security > Security, find the message "System software from application CP210xVCPDriver was blocked from loading" and manually enable it.

 

Allow Driver Extensions on macOS Catalina (10.15), Big Sur (11) and Monterey (12)

In the pop-up that appears, click "Open Security Preferences".

Click the lock icon in the bottom left corner to make the changes.

Enter your password again and click "Unlock".

Click the "Allow" button next to the message "System software from application CP210xVCPDriver was blocked from loading".

After successful installation, a prompt "Installation of the driver succeeded." will appear, click "Close" to close the installer.

If you missed setting up in the wizard, go to System Preferences > Security & Privacy > General, find the message "System software from application CP210xVCPDriver was blocked from loading" and manually enable it.
